This is the first part of a series of presentations under the logo Science for Non-Science. It covers the fundamental phenomena of the laser physics: photon absorption and emission, energy lifetime, stimulated emission, inversion and various laser systems. The second part of this presentation will discuss the signal amplification, broadband light sources and lasers.
