By accessing or using the Optoel website (optoelsoft.com), including the blog and the fiber optics Simulator (together, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). The Service is operated by Rofinntech 3D (“Optoel”, “we”, “us”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. Where a cookie/consent banner is shown, clicking “Accept” confirms your acceptance of both our use of cookies and these Terms.

Optoel provides informational content about fiber optics engineering, including articles published on the blog, and an interactive Simulator that numerically computes guided-mode properties (effective index, mode field profiles, and bend loss) for a refractive-index profile you define. We may add, modify, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

The Simulator is a numerical modelling tool provided for educational, research, and illustrative purposes. It uses a finite-difference approximation of the scalar wave equation under the weakly-guiding approximation and does not model material dispersion, vector/polarization effects, or manufacturing tolerances.

Results are provided “as is”, without warranty of accuracy, and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for fiber, component, or system design, manufacturing, or safety-critical decisions. You are responsible for independently validating any output before acting on it.

The Optoel name, logo, website design, articles, and Simulator software are the property of Rofinntech 3D and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws, unless otherwise credited. You may view and share content for personal, non-commercial, and informational use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written permission.

Some areas of the Service, such as blog comments and the contact form, allow you to submit content or messages. You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, infringing, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, filter, moderate, or remove any user-submitted content at our sole discretion, including automated screening for offensive language.

The Service uses cookies and may display advertisements through Google AdSense, as described in the cookie banner shown when you first visit the site. Third-party embedded content (such as YouTube videos in blog articles) is subject to that provider’s own terms and privacy practices, which are outside our control.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Rofinntech 3D shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including reliance on Simulator results.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date below. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law grants you additional rights in your country of residence.
